I love when spring arrives! I can say goodbye to winter and get ready for one of my favorite times of year. Though I do enjoy spring cleaning and organizing, even higher on my list is storm season. Does that surprise you? For those who don’t know, my professional background is emergency management (disaster response and recovery) and I love all things severe weather. I was fascinated by weather and natural disasters since I was a little girl. Now I am blessed to help people in overwhelming situations from life or disasters. So you can understand why my heart drops when I hear the statement on TV, “I never heard the sirens in my house” after a community is hit by a tornado. This is a very deep concern that is shared in the weather and emergency management community. Here is my broadcast on Periscope and I share why you shouldn’t expect to hear sirens inside your house for a tornado warning. I also share how I find out about a potential bad weather day and the Midland 120EZ Weather Radio my family and I use.
Please comment how you find out about severe weather. Do you use a weather radio or specific app on your phone?
