You know how you WANT to spend your time but it seems a struggle to get there. You want to spend time playing with the kids, calling your friend to see how she is doing, on time for appointments, and making a delicious hot meal for your family or a sick friend.
But instead you are running late for most of your appointments, late paying for a bill, yelled at the kids and now you are scrambling to find any food to make for supper tonight. How do I know? Because this has happened to me to stinking often.
While we will always have moments of life and sometimes seasons feeling overwhelmed. . . . we SHOULD NOT live in this crisis all the time.
You can live a life of a normal pace where you accomplish the important-to-you tasks, impact those around you and have your heart at peace.
The question is do you need:
- A new planner, apps or systems
- A weight taken off your heart
- Or maybe both
Most likely it is the third option. We can always benefit from a good planner, the right apps on our phone and having a system to get the kids loaded into the car under 5 minutes.
But we also need to look at our heart, why do we feel the pressure to squeeze to many things into a day? Why do we struggle to say yes to the best choices of life and do not say no to the time draining obligations.
Why even listen to me?
As I mentioned before I have lived in stretches of feeling overwhelmed for valid reasons, moving houses, new baby, new job and personal crisis. My husband is on a flexible work schedule, we have three very active kids under six and I also have my own business. But these are not the only experiences I base my approach.
What makes my offer of being your guide and encourager is my background as an emergency manager (aka disaster response and recovery). I have spent over a decade in the field planning a normal day on my calendar and having a large scale emergency or disaster totally blow up my schedule for my day, week or month. The expectation was to take care of business daily but be ready to respond at any time when needed. I have found unique tips, systems, tools and heart changing steps that helped me move a
way from being overwhelmed and to live life. Because I have royally screwed up and piled way too much on my plate, drowning under the weight of my obligations. Gain from my mistakes and lessons learned so you can take the steps to living a full life. Now over the last few years I have been blessed to take the steps for my life priorities match up with how I spend my time. While I don’t do it perfectly, I am enjoying life.
A little more about me, my first love will always be my savior Jesus, I would not being living such a blessed life without Him. My husband Burt is my match and my handsome man and we are raising our three little blessings to the best of our abilities.
